Kim Jong Il (cont.)
This kind of goes with the post on terrorism in North Korea and how it could never be alleviated because of the illogical Kim Jong Il. Not until the Northerners of Korea can adopt the morals and convictions of their Southern neighbors, they will always be the controversial country that harbors and supports terrorist activity. I'm surprised that since the Korean war, the U.S. has not really intervened with any sort of force to try to maintain a reasonable level of social progress concerning the disoriented peoples of the north. I would have figured that Kim Jong Il would be on the same "wanted dead or alive," level as Sadaam Hussein. It's good that the U.S. had contested North Korea's nuclear missile plans, but can we be sure that we've stopped them completely?

What do you define as "terrorist activity"? Certainly there is no credibly established connection between North Korea and Muslim extremism if that is what you are referring to. Also, I don't see how the North Koreans as a whole have in any sense acted immoral or "disoriented". That they have suffered through the rule of Kim Jong-il is more a consequence of the misguided policy of imposed sanctions that, as we witnessed so brutally in Iraq, eviscerates the population while cementing the power of the targeted government. It is a dangerous mindset that condemns a whole country's population for the perceived injustices of their leaders.
This is a good point. I was not relating North Korea and Muslim extremism though. I was simply pointing out that Kim Jong-Il's actions and his reputation formed from past experiences with the Southern republic are explicit reminders of his point of view of what an ideal government system should be. Also, I also should have stated that the citizens of North Korea have not acted immoral or disoriented, but yes, they have been subjected to this fate by their leader. No, I don't think that Kim Jong-Il will plan to run any airplanes into American buildings, but I can see North Korea as threat in terms of their allegiances.
