Japan economic crisis
Japan is suffering a tremendous economic crisis. The fallout is so severe that Japan has decided to set aside it's differences with North Korea.

The mission of the Center for Asian Democracy is to promote research and teaching about democracy and the prospects for democratization in Central, South, Southeast and East Asia. Through publications, conferences, workshops, visiting scholars programs, colloquia, and research projects in Asian countries, the Center creates a forum for studying political dynamics in this vital region.

Actually in recent months, South Korea has done the same. After Rice visited the north, the south decided not to eliminate its tourist activities with the north, as they are also in an economic crisis.
